Our History

1974
After college graduation and traveling to 20 countries, Mickey entered the insurance business instead of law school and left after 4 months.

1979
Michael “Mickey” Rosenzweig, CLU, ChFC, AEP came back into the business and founded Rosenzweig Financial Services with a dream to provide quality financial services to people in the local area. New York City was a large, highly active city with a highly affluent market, which made the industry exceedingly competitive – but over time, the firm grew and thrived, and expanded nationwide into the client-focused firm it is today. However, the path to the modern day wasn’t linear, and we decided to tell our story through a timeline of events to display the hard work that Mickey invested to make Rosenzweig Financial Services a success.

1981
Mickey in talking with field leadership determined he needed help to expand the firm and after a search hired Stuart Appel, CLU, LUTCF into the firm. As it turned out, it was one of the best decisions Mickey ever made.

1982
The firm began to focus almost exclusively on medical and dental interns and residents in hospitals with the goal to assist them as they went into practice.

1985
As our clients were finishing their residency and starting their own practices, the firm continued to expand and started offering additional services such as pension design and administration, employee benefits, as well as financing through banking relationships.

We opened our new custom office space on Park Avenue in New York City.

2007
As the firm continued to expand, we hired a college intern, Johanna Quinteros. Another great milestone for the firm as today she leads our administrative team. Mickey purchased his first home in Florida and that began a process of physically operating in more than one state.

2008
Mickey is an avid accomplished scuba diver and took an 11-week sabbatical overseas to wrestle with the future direction of the firm and developed a game plan. As a result of this trip, Mickey embarked on the creation of a new division to once again add medical residents in training in specialties only.

2013
Mickey’s first book, titled “Regenerating Success”, was published by the American College of Financial Services. The second edition of the book was published a year later.

2014
We opened our first Florida office in Delray Beach. With the firm operating paperless, it enabled us to operate in multiple states.

2015
Created in 2010, RAG RFSNY LLC added over 1,000 medical residency specialists to the firm and a decision was made to sell that division to 2 young partners in that division.

2019
We expanded and relocated our Florida office to Boca Raton.

2021
As the firm continues to evolve and expand, it considers issues like Succession Planning, after an exhaustive search, Michelle Boyce joined the team with over 19 years of experience in the industry. Based on Michelle’s background in financial planning, leadership skills, and overall demeanor she was the right fit to join the already successful RFS brand and help us into the future.
